- I want to...
On the evening of Friday, July 26th, the Town responded to a water main leak on Foreman St. The water department worked to repair the leak with work completed Saturday morning. Due to significant damage to the roadway, the Town called in our engineering firm to assess the damage and make recommendations. The engineer is currently working on plans to repair the roadway and make improvements to the water infrastructure by replacing the water main running down Foreman Street. We are also evaluating other improvements, such as valve placements, to reduce damage should a water leak occur in the future. The Town has been working in coordination with SCDOT, private contractors, and Aiken County Emergency Management to resolve issues with run-off rain water. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our citizens. We are aware of the urgency of this matter and are diligently working to resolve this issue. We appreciate the diligent efforts by the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department and citizens that have assisted in these efforts.”
